The Project
BlueMelt is a rock music project fronted by London-based artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vito Tardia.
The Man
Vito Tardia (a.k.a. Ragman) started playing the guitar in the late 80s at the age of 13 and joined his first local rock band at 16. His early influences were bands like Guns n’ Roses and Iron Maiden, along with guitar heroes like Joe Satriani and Marty Friedman.
From 1995 to 2001 he played with the power metal band Pandaemonium. He co-wrote their first album …and The Runes Begin to Pray, released under the Italian label Underground Symphony.
In 2001 he joined the progressive rock format b0d (Busy Road), published their first album Electric Orchid and toured with the band until the mid-2000s.
He then spent a few years writing music for videos and commercials before taking a long pause from the music industry. Until early 2019, when he started the BlueMelt project in London.
The Music
BlueMelt’s music was initially conceived as instrumental, where classic blues-based guitar melodies were supported by bold modern industrial drums and bass. It then developed into a mix of both instrumental and vocal-based music, with grungy vocals layered on top of a contemporary solid hard rock foundation, occasionally dipping into electronic music.
Both BlueMelt’s 2020 debut EP The Cube and the Key (Part 1) and latest single Glass Towers received a good level of support from local and international music independent press.
